Devin Smeltzer hopes every outing could go as well as Saturday, as Smeltzer pitched a no-hitter to carry the Hyannis Harbor Hawks (18-15) to a 5-0 victory over the Harwich Mariners (14-19) at Whitehouse Field.
Errol Robinson reached base four times in the game for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the third, seventh, and eighth innings.
Cory Wilder was effective even in defeat, mowing down five the Hyannis Harbor Hawks batters and allowing one run.
Smeltzer got the win, running his season record to 4-2. Smeltzer struck out four, walked one and gave up no hits.
Wilder ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year.
