Brody Weiss was cold coming off the bench, but Weiss warmed up quickly as Weiss stroked a key pinch-hit single in the five to lead the Cotuit Kettleers (4-5) to a 4-3 win over the Brewster Whitecaps (3-5) on Wednesday at Lowell Park.

With the score tied at two, Weiss came to the plate and singled.

The Brewster Whitecaps had no answer for Jon Woodcock, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Brewster Whitecaps managed just two hits off of Woodcock, who allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out three during his four innings of work.

Nick Senzel paced the Brewster Whitecaps at the plate. Senzel went 2-4 and scored two runs. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

Gage Griffin (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed one run.
