An awesome effort by Luke Wilkins hoisted the Washington Wild Things (42-54) to a 7-1 win over the Windy City ThunderBolts (41-55) on Sunday at CONSOL Energy Park.

Wilkins got the win for the Washington Wild Things thanks to nine strikeouts. Wilkins allowed one earned run on seven hits and one walk over nine innings.

The Washington Wild Things blew out the Windy City ThunderBolts thanks to 11 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Washington Wild Things scored three runs in the seventh on the Washington Wild Things scored in the seventh on an RBI single by Austin Wobrock and a two-run double by Andrew Heck.

Daniel Poma reached base three times in the game for the Washington Wild Things. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the fourth inning.

Brady Muller couldn't get it done on the bump for the Windy City ThunderBolts, taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out five, and allowed three runs.
