The Gateway Grizzlies jump on the Lake Erie Crushers early and coast to 10-3 win

The Gateway Grizzlies (43-50) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Lake Erie Crushers (38-55), recording a 10-3 victory on Friday at GCS Ballpark.

Five runs in the first three innings allowed the Gateway Grizzlies to put the game away early.

A groundout by Ben Waldrip in the first inning and a fielder's choice, an RBI double by Garrett Vail, an RBI single by Ryan Johns, an RBI single by Johns, a fielder's choice, and a double by Seth Heck during the second inning fueled the Gateway Grizzlies' offense early.

Blake Brown racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Gateway Grizzlies. He singled in the third inning and homered in the fourth innings.

Tyler Thompson racked up nine strikeouts in the the Gateway Grizzlies win. Thompson allowed three earned runs on six hits and one walk over 7 2/3 innings.

Juan Sanchez racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Lake Erie Crushers. He homered in the eighth innings.

Matt Brankle was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed 10 runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out four.
