Wednesday was a great day for Tyler Tewell, as he hit two home runs to carry the Gateway Grizzlies (41-50) to a 10-7 victory over the Southern Illinois Miners (61-31) at GCS Ballpark.

Jerrud Sabourin racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Southern Illinois Miners. He doubled in the first and third innings.

Jordan Wellander improved to 4-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Gateway Grizzlies. He allowed two runs over one inning. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Brandon Cowan was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed four runs.

The Gateway Grizzlies were sparked by Seth Heck and Craig Massoni, who teamed up for eight hits and six RBIs.
