The Joliet Slammers take out the Lake Erie Crushers with help from Flores, 5-3

The Joliet Slammers (39-52) beat the Lake Erie Crushers (37-53) 5-3 on Tuesday at All Pro Freight Stadium behind Marc Flores, who went 2-4 and hit a home run.

He homered in the first inning and singled in the eighth inning.

Dan Tobik had an impressive outing against the Lake Erie Crushers' lineup. Tobik held the Lake Erie Crushers hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.

Trevor Stevens paced the Lake Erie Crushers at the plate. Stevens went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second inning and homered in the fourth inning.

The Joliet Slammers couldn't get anything going as long as Trevor Longfellow was pitching. Longfellow gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his three innings of work.

Andrew Strenge recorded his eighth win of the year for the Joliet Slammers. He allowed three runs over six innings. Strenge struck out three, walked none and gave up eight hits.

Brad Zambron (3-7) took the loss for the Lake Erie Crushers. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
