The Florence Freedom (44-43) beat the Rockford Aviators (45-42) 5-3 on Thursday at UC Health Stadium behind Isaac Wenrich, who collected three hits.
He doubled in the sixth inning and singled in the fourth and eighth innings.The Rockford Aviators couldn't get anything going as long as Ethan Gibbons was pitching. Gibbons held the Rockford Aviators hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Seth Harvey recorded his third win of the year for the Florence Freedom. He allowed one run over two innings. Harvey struck out two, walked none and gave up three hits.
Kyle Brueggemann ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his sixth loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out five, and allowed five runs.
