Gooding struck out six and allowed no walks and two hits.

Andrew Godbold racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Florence Freedom. He homered in the second inning and singled in the fifth inning.

Evan Boyd (0-5) took the loss for the Schaumburg Boomers. He lasted just five innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
