Taylor Ard went 1-3 as the River City Rascals (42-34) took home a 5-2 victory over the Rockford Aviators (42-34) at Aviator Stadium on Friday.

Tommy Lawrence handled the Rockford Aviators' lineup with ease, racking up six strikeouts. Lawrence allowed one earned run on four hits and two walks over 5 2/3 innings.

Roberto Padilla pitched lights out for the Rockford Aviators. The River City Rascals managed just three hits off of the the Rockford Aviators' pitcher, who allowed two earned runs, walked two and struck out four during his six innings of work.

Victor Beriguete recorded his first win of the year for the River City Rascals. Beriguete struck out four, walked none and gave up no hits.

Colby Holmes (1-5) took the loss for the Rockford Aviators. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
