Joe Iorio was cold coming off the bench, but Iorio warmed up quickly as Iorio stroked a key pinch-hit single in the seven to lead the Southern Illinois Miners (49-26) to a 7-6 win over the Lake Erie Crushers (32-42) on Thursday at Rent One Park, Marion, IL.

With the Southern Illinois Miners trailing by two, Iorio came to the plate and singled.

A walk-off single by Toby DeMello gave the Southern Illinois Miners the win.

DeMello led the Southern Illinois Miners' offensive threat, as he got on base one time in the game.

Frank Martinez got on base three times in the game for the Southern Illinois Miners. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He doubled in the second inning.

Eric Green improved to 5-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Southern Illinois Miners. He allowed two runs over one inning. Green struck out none, walked one and gave up four hits.

Mike Devine (3-4) took the loss for the Lake Erie Crushers. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
