Kalamar helps the Washington Wild Things down the Schaumburg Boomers 8-4

Scott Kalamar collected three hits, sparking the Washington Wild Things (30-40) to an 8-4 victory over the Schaumburg Boomers (29-41) on Friday at Schaumburg Boomers Stadium.

He homered in the second inning and singled in the sixth and eighth innings.

T.J. Bennett put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Schaumburg Boomers. He homered in the fifth inning and doubled in the seventh inning.

Luke Wilkins improved to 6-3 on the year by picking up the win for the Washington Wild Things. He allowed four runs over six innings. Wilkins struck out two, walked three and gave up six hits.

Evan Boyd couldn't get it done on the bump for the Schaumburg Boomers, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
