Chris Carmain hopes every outing could go as well as Wednesday, as Carmain pitched seven shutout innings to carry the Normal CornBelters (37-30) to a 1-0 victory over the Florence Freedom at UC Health Stadium in 10 innings.

Horacio Acosta improved to 6-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Normal CornBelters. Acosta struck out none, walked one and gave up two hits.

Seth Harvey was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed one run.
