A great effort by Taylor Thurber spurred the Schaumburg Boomers (26-37) to a 7-0 win over the Joliet Slammers on Thursday at Schaumburg Boomers Stadium.

Thurber held the Joliet Slammers (26-37) scoreless during his nine innings of work. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on four hits while ringing up four.

The Schaumburg Boomers blew out the Joliet Slammers thanks to 12 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Schaumburg Boomers scored three runs in the eighth on the Schaumburg Boomers scored in the eighth on an RBI single by T.J. Bennett and a two-run single by Jordan Dean.
