Adam Lopez kept the Florence Freedom (28-32) off the board during his six innings of work and the Southern Illinois Miners (39-21) beat the Florence Freedom, 3-2.

Lopez struck out nine and allowed four walks and one hit.

Michael Earley had two extra-base hits for the Southern Illinois Miners. He homered in the first inning and doubled in the seventh inning.

Patrick McGrath was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
