Both the Joliet Slammers (24-34) and the Windy City ThunderBolts (21-36) put runners aboard on Friday, but it was the Joliet Slammers that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 7-2 win at Silver Cross Field.

The fact that the Joliet Slammers grouped all of their runs into the sixth inning helped them take advantage of their hits.

Carlos Lopez led the Joliet Slammers' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He singled in the second inning.

The Joliet Slammers' lineup had no answer for Pete Whittingslow. The Joliet Slammers managed just one hit off of Whittingslow, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out three during his 2 1/3 innings of work.
