Anthony Renteria went 3-3 at the plate as the Rockford Aviators (33-24) took home a 7-2 victory over the Schaumburg Boomers (25-33) at Boomers Stadium on Friday.
He doubled in the third inning, homered in the fifth inning, and singled in the eighth inning.The Rockford Aviators relied on Tony Rizzotti to eat up innings en route to the win. Rizzotti allowed one earned run, five hits and four walks while striking out two over six innings of work.
Taylor Thurber (0-1) took the loss for the Schaumburg Boomers. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked none and struck out four.
