Frank Martinez went 4-4 at the plate, sparking the Southern Illinois Miners (35-19) to an 8-4 victory over the Windy City ThunderBolts (19-33) on Sunday at Rent One Park, Marion, IL.

The Southern Illinois Miners got the win thanks in large part to Matt Bywater's dominant, 11-strikeout performance. Bywater allowed two earned runs, six hits and one walk over seven innings.

Austin Gallagher did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Windy City ThunderBolts, reaching base three times. He singled in the first and fourth innings.

Jake Fisher was charged with his fifth loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in 6 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out two.
