A walk-off error from Daniel Poma brought home the winning run for the Washington Wild Things (24-29) in a 2-1 victory over the Normal CornBelters (30-23) at CONSOL Energy Park on Saturday.

Matt Sergey baffled the Normal CornBelters, striking out eight batters. Sergey allowed one earned run, five hits and one walk over six innings.

Jonathan Kountis got the win, running his season record to 1-1. Kountis struck out none, walked none and gave up no hits.

Marc Rutledge ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.
