Efrain Nieves improved to 8-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Evansville Otters. He allowed three runs over seven innings. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered nine hits.
Kevin Walter couldn't get it done on the mound for the Joliet Slammers, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out five.
