Jarett Miller got the win for the Southern Illinois Miners thanks to eight strikeouts. Miller allowed one earned run on three hits and two walks over 7 2/3 innings.
A bright spot for the Traverse City Beach Bums in the defeat was Ian MacDougall, who allowed only two runs while striking out six.
