Brandon Jacobs went 1-4 and hit a home run as the Traverse City Beach Bums (27-12) took home a 5-3 victory over the Joliet Slammers (18-23) at Silver Cross Field on Tuesday.

Alfredo Rodriguez was solid at the plate for the Joliet Slammers. Rodriguez went 2-4 and scored two runs. He singled in the fifth and sixth innings.

The Traverse City Beach Bums had no answer for David Kubiak, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Kubiak gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his two innings of work.

Luis DeJesus improved to 5-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out two, walked two and surrendered eight hits.

Andrew Strenge (4-4) took the loss for the Joliet Slammers. He lasted just five innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
