The Joliet Slammers (17-21) beat the Normal CornBelters (21-16) 9-6 in seven innings on Saturday at Silver Cross Field behind Nate Roberts, who went 1-3 and hit a home run.
He homered in the third innings.Patrick McKenna racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Normal CornBelters. He singled in the first, fifth, and seventh innings.
David Kubiak got the win, running his season record to 3-3. He allowed one run over 2 1/3 innings. Kubiak struck out three, walked one and gave up one hit.
