The Windy City ThunderBolts outdone by Buckner and the Gateway Grizzlies, 6-5

The Gateway Grizzlies (10-21) beat the Windy City ThunderBolts (14-15) 6-5 on Friday at GCS Ballpark behind Grant Buckner, who had two extra base hits.

He singled in the second inning, homered in the third inning, and doubled in the fifth innings.

Max White racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He singled in the fifth innings and homered in the ninth inning.

Trevor Richards improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Gateway Grizzlies. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out four, walked one and surrendered seven hits.

Zak Wasserman couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Windy City ThunderBolts, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out two.

Tyler Tewell, Cody Livesay and Buckner helped lead the Gateway Grizzlies. They combined for eight hits and five RBIs.
