The Traverse City Beach Bums (19-9) and the Normal CornBelters (16-13) both had scoring chances on Thursday, but it was the Traverse City Beach Bums that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 6-3 win at The Corn Crib.

Jay Austin got on base four times in the game for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He scored one run and had one RBI. He doubled in the seventh innings and singled in the fifth and ninth innings.

Patrick McKenna reached base two times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He homered in the first inning.

Luis DeJesus improved to 4-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He allowed two runs over five innings. DeJesus struck out one, walked three and gave up six hits.

Brad Orosey couldn't get it done on the bump for the Normal CornBelters, taking a loss. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
