Both the Lake Erie Crushers (8-13) and the Florence Freedom (9-14) put runners aboard on Friday, but it was the Lake Erie Crushers that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 7-6 win at UC Health Stadium.
Juan Sanchez racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Lake Erie Crushers. He homered in the first inning and singled in the third inning.
The Florence Freedom's lineup had no answer for Kolby Moore. Moore held the Florence Freedom hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.
Austin Newell reached base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the third inning and homered in the seventh inning.
Trevor Longfellow improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Lake Erie Crushers. He allowed one run over 1 1/3 innings. Longfellow struck out two, walked two and gave up two hits.
Casey Henn was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out six.
