Scott Carcaise had three extra base hits as the Frontier Greys (6-8) took home an 8-3 victory over the Joliet Slammers (6-10) at Silver Cross Field on Tuesday.
He doubled in the second and sixth innings and homered in the ninth inning.The Frontier Greys relied on Jordan Kraus to eat up innings en route to the win. Kraus pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs, five hits and one walk while striking out four.
Aaron Vaughn couldn't get it done on the bump for the Joliet Slammers, taking a loss. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out six, and allowed three runs.
The Frontier Greys were sparked by Carcaise and Jhiomar Veras, who teamed up for four hits and five RBIs.
