Canela helps the River City Rascals down the Washington Wild Things 9-5

Danny Canela had two extra base hits, sparking the River City Rascals (6-7) to a 9-5 victory over the Washington Wild Things (5-8) on Tuesday at T. R. Hughes Ballpark.

He doubled in the sixth and seventh innings and singled in the eighth inning.

The Washington Wild Things couldn't get anything going as long as Heith Hatfield was pitching. Hatfield held the Washington Wild Things hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Sam Mende racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Washington Wild Things. He doubled in the fourth inning and homered in the eighth inning.

Matt Sergey pitched lights out for the Washington Wild Things. The River City Rascals managed just two hits off of the the Washington Wild Things' pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked four and struck out one during his six innings of work.

Tyler Wilson was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
