An ace performance by Michael Schweiss spurred the Normal CornBelters (4-3) to a 12-1 win over the Washington Wild Things on Friday at The Corn Crib.
Schweiss kept contact to a minimum, striking out 14 the Washington Wild Things (1-6) batters. Schweiss allowed one earned run on five hits and one walk over seven innings.
The Normal CornBelters blew out the Washington Wild Things thanks to 18 hits, including zero extra base hits.
