The Normal CornBelters (3-1) blew out the Gateway Grizzlies (0-4) 9-2 on Tuesday at The Corn Crib after pouring on five runs in the fifth inning.

The Normal CornBelters scored in the fifth on a single by Sam Judah, a double by Aaron Dudley, a single by Richard Lucas, an RBI single by Ozney Guillen, an RBI single by Santiago Chirino, an error, and a wild pitch.

It was a good day at the plate for the Normal CornBelters' Guillen. Guillen went 2-4 and scored three runs.

Kevin Brahney got the win for the Normal CornBelters thanks to five strikeouts. The Normal CornBelters' pitcher tossed five innings of shutout ball and allowed only four hits.

Blake Brown had a hot bat for the Gateway Grizzlies. Brown went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Dejai Oliver (0-1) took the loss for the Gateway Grizzlies. He allowed eight runs in four innings, walked three and struck out three.
