It took 11 innings, but the Normal CornBelters (2-0) managed to put away the River City Rascals (0-2) 5-4 on Saturday at T. R. Hughes Ballpark.

With the score tied at one in the eleventh inning, Mark Micowski came to the plate and doubled.

Sam Judah racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Normal CornBelters. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the eleventh inning.

The River City Rascals couldn't get anything going so long as Kevin Brahney was on the hill. Brahney gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his three innings of work.

Kevin Jefferis got the win, running his season record to 1-0. Jefferis struck out two, walked none and gave up one hit.

Derek Cape was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just zero innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
