Michael Hur went 2-4 and hit a home run as the Rockford Aviators (1-0) took home a 6-2 victory over the Gateway Grizzlies (0-1) at GCS Ballpark on Friday.

Kyle Brueggemann kept contact to a minimum, striking out six the Gateway Grizzlies batters. Brueggemann allowed two earned runs on three hits and one walk over 6 2/3 innings.

Despite the loss, the Gateway Grizzlies' JaVaun West dominated the Rockford Aviators' batters, giving up two runs and striking out six.

Shawn Payne racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Gateway Grizzlies. He homered in the third inning.

Troy Barton ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
