Sunday was a great day for Wyatt Castro, as he clubbed two home runs to carry the Sacramento Heat (21-21) to a 15-3 victory over the Nevada Big Horns (19-21) at Golden Eagle Park in seven innings.
Five runs in the opening three innings allowed the Sacramento Heat to easily put away the Nevada Big Horns. A solo home run by Anthony Geremia in the first inning and an RBI single by Anthony Fellman during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Sacramento Heat.
It was a good day at the plate for the Nevada Big Horns' Zachary Muenster. Muenster went 3-4 and scored one run. He singled in the first, fifth, and seventh innings.
Andrew Lucio improved to 3-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Sacramento Heat. He allowed three runs over seven innings. Lucio struck out four, walked one and gave up nine hits.
Jake Chambers ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fifth loss of the year. He allowed nine runs in five innings, walked one and struck out three.
The Sacramento Heat pounded the Nevada Big Horns pitching, as six hitters combined for 17 hits, 12 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
