Dan Ward collected three hits, helping the West Virginia Miners (34-24) to a 7-4 victory over the Jamestown Jammers (27-31) on Tuesday at Linda K. Epling Stadium.

He singled in the second, sixth, and eighth innings.

David Goggin racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Jamestown Jammers. He doubled in the seventh inning and singled in the eighth inning.

Masashi Sakamoto improved to 5-1 on the year by picking up the win for the West Virginia Miners. He allowed one run over 1 1/3 innings. Sakamoto struck out one, walked one and gave up two hits.

Eric Solberg (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
