The Kokomo Jackrabbits (23-22) and the Springfield Sliders (21-22) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Kokomo Jackrabbits that eventually took advantage of them in a 4-3 win at Kokomo Municipal Stadium.

Chris Klenk did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Kokomo Jackrabbits, reaching base two times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the eighth inning.

Ryan Fritze brought the heat against the Springfield Sliders during his outing. The Springfield Sliders managed just three hits off of Fritze, who allowed one earned run, walked three and struck out two during his five innings of work.

Avery Brandon pitched lights out for the Springfield Sliders. Brandon held the Kokomo Jackrabbits hitless over 2 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out one.

James Townsend-Chase improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Kokomo Jackrabbits. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered one hit.

Jose Hernandez was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked three, struck out none, and allowed one run.
