The Springfield Sliders (15-18) and the Quincy Gems (13-20) each put runners in scoring position on Sunday, but the Springfield Sliders capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 4-2 win at Quincy Stadium.
Dylan Rosa was solid at the plate for the Springfield Sliders. Rosa went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second innings and homered in the fifth inning.
Despite the loss, the Quincy Gems' Jake Busiek dominated the Springfield Sliders' batters, giving up three runs and striking out six.
Avery Brandon got the win, running his season record to 2-1. He allowed one run over four innings. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered two hits.
Busiek was charged with his second loss of the year.
