Logan Blackfan went 1-3 and hit a home run, sparking the Richmond RiverRats (10-16) to a 2-1 victory over the Springfield Sliders (12-14) on Saturday at McBride Stadium.
He homered in the first inning.The Springfield Sliders' lineup had no answer for Anthony Justiniano. The Springfield Sliders managed just two hits off of the the Richmond RiverRats' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his three innings of work.
A bright spot for the Springfield Sliders in the defeat was Tanner Lupton, who allowed only two runs while striking out five.
Nick Coudret improved to 2-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Richmond RiverRats. He allowed one run over five innings. Coudret struck out three, walked six and gave up one hit.
Lupton (0-1) took the loss for the Springfield Sliders.
