The West Virginia Miners make the most of 6 hits in 6-5 victory over the Springfield Sliders

The West Virginia Miners (18-8) and the Springfield Sliders (12-12) both had scoring chances on Thursday, but it was the West Virginia Miners that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 6-5 win at Linda K. Epling Stadium.

Justin Paul racked up two RBIs on two hits for the West Virginia Miners. He tripled in the first inning and singled in the ninth inning.

Dylan Rosa had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the fifth and seventh innings.

Masashi Sakamoto improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the West Virginia Miners. Sakamoto struck out one, walked one and gave up one hit.

James Kannenberg couldn't get it done on the bump for the Springfield Sliders, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in eight innings, walked five and struck out four.
