A great day by Cody Maerz wasn't enough to carry the Jamestown Jammers (13-7) to a win on Friday, as the Jamestown Jammers fell to the Chillicothe Paints (13-7) 1-0 at Diethrick Park in 11 innings.
Maerz held the Chillicothe Paints scoreless for eight innings. Maerz struck out seven and allowed two walks and three hits.
The Jamestown Jammers had no answer for Zack Shannon, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Shannon gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his five innings of work.
Matt Minnick couldn't get it done on the hill for the Jamestown Jammers, taking a loss. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
