An ace performance by Mason Kutruff led the Terre Haute Rex (15-4) to a 2-0 win over the Springfield Sliders (8-11) on Friday at Robin Roberts Field.

Kutruff kept the Springfield Sliders off the board during his eight innings of work. Kutruff allowed two hits, no walks and struck out six.

Ricardo Ramirez led the Terre Haute Rex's offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the sixth inning.

Despite the loss, the Springfield Sliders' Jose Marin dominated the Terre Haute Rex's batters, giving up one run and striking out six.

James Kannenberg couldn't get it done on the hill for the Springfield Sliders, taking a loss. He lasted just five innings, walked four, struck out three, and allowed one run.
