The Champion City Kings (5-12) and the Butler BlueSox (8-9) each put runners in scoring position on Wednesday, but the Champion City Kings capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 4-3 win at Kelly Auto Park.
It was a good day at the plate for the Butler BlueSox's Matt Hansen. Hansen went 3-4 and scored three runs. He doubled in the sixth inning and singled in the first and eighth innings.
Trent Armstrong improved to 2-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Champion City Kings. He allowed three runs over seven innings. Armstrong struck out four, walked one and gave up seven hits.
Ben Hartz (0-3) took the loss for the Butler BlueSox. He lasted just five innings, walked five, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
