Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Thursday as the Chillicothe Paints (8-6) outscored the Champion City Kings (4-9) 9-8.

The two teams combined for 23 hits in the game.

Derek Hug racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Chillicothe Paints. He singled in the sixth inning and tripled in the ninth inning.

Drew Murray put together a nice outing. Murray gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his 2 1/3 innings of work.

Adam Fitzgibbon got a hit in each of his three at bats. He singled in the third, seventh, and eighth innings.

Jason Johnson improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Chillicothe Paints. He struck out none, walked four and surrendered two hits.

Ryan Vruggink (0-1) took the loss for the Champion City Kings. He lasted just zero innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
