Ferrell helps the Richmond RiverRats down the Jamestown Jammers 9-4

Joba Ferrell had two extra base hits, helping the Richmond RiverRats (5-11) to a 9-4 victory over the Jamestown Jammers (13-4) on Sunday at Diethrick Park.

He doubled in the first and fourth innings.

Mitch Gibson baffled the Jamestown Jammers, striking out four batters. The Richmond RiverRats' pitcher tossed four innings of shutout ball and allowed only four hits.

Paxton De La Garza had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the first and fifth innings.

The Richmond RiverRats had no answer for Keith Phillips, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Phillips held the Richmond RiverRats hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

Cory Craig improved to 1-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Richmond RiverRats. He allowed four runs over five innings. He struck out four, walked one and surrendered six hits.

Pat Mace ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
