The West Virginia Miners take out the Richmond RiverRats with help from Vansau, 7-4

Hunter Vansau had two extra base hits, sparking the West Virginia Miners (5-3) to a 7-4 victory over the Richmond RiverRats (2-6) on Thursday at McBride Stadium.

He doubled in the fifth inning, homered in the sixth inning, and singled in the eighth inning.

Jeff Kammer racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Richmond RiverRats. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the seventh inning.

Jake Belinda recorded his first win of the year for the West Virginia Miners. He allowed two runs over five innings. Belinda struck out five, walked one and gave up five hits.

Sam Burton couldn't get it done on the hill for the Richmond RiverRats, taking a loss. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed three runs.

Vansau, Justin Paul and Dom Iero helped lead the West Virginia Miners. They combined for seven hits and seven RBIs.
