The Quincy Gems sixth-inning burst enough to top the Danville Dans, 9-3

The Quincy Gems (2-6) rolled over the Danville Dans (5-3) 9-3 on Wednesday at Danville Stadium after a five-run rally in the sixth inning.

The Quincy Gems scored in the sixth on an RBI single by Jake Busiek, a three-run triple by Braden Shull, an RBI single by Jordan Harris, and an RBI single by Harris.

Shull racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Quincy Gems.

The Danville Dans had no answer for Colan Borchers, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Danville Dans managed just two hits off of the the Quincy Gems' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out five during his four innings of work.

Christian Diaz had two extra-base hits for the Danville Dans. He tripled in the fourth inning and doubled in the sixth inning.

Bill Oxford got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered six hits.

Robbie Gordon (0-1) took the loss for the Danville Dans. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked three and struck out five.
