The Schaumburg Boomers (6-2) built an early lead against the River City Rascals (3-3), scoring three runs in the first inning, en route to a 6-2 win on Wednesday at Schaumburg Baseball Stadium.

The Schaumburg Boomers scored in the first on a hit by pitch, a two-run single by Jordan Dean, and a two-run single by Dean.

Tony Delmonico racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Schaumburg Boomers.

Seth Webster picked up the win for the Schaumburg Boomers. Webster allowed one earned run, six hits and two walks while striking out three over seven innings of work.

It was a good day at the plate for the River City Rascals' Jon Myers. Myers went 2-4 and scored two runs. He singled in the fifth inning and doubled in the ninth inning.

Kyle Brady (1-1) took the loss for the River City Rascals. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
