Andrew Heck went 1-2, sparking the Washington Wild Things (57-37) to a 3-1 victory in seven innings over the Evansville Otters (55-37) on Tuesday at CONSOL Energy Park.
He tripled in the fourth inning.The Washington Wild Things relied on Scott Dunn to eat up innings en route to the win. Dunn allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk while striking out four over 5 2/3 innings of work.
Despite the loss, the Evansville Otters' Jose Velez dominated the Washington Wild Things' batters, giving up three runs and striking out eight.
Velez was charged with his fifth loss of the year.
