A walk-off single from Dave Barr brought home the winning run for the New Brunswick (4-1) in a 4-3 victory over the Nova Scotia (2-3) in 10 innings at Smallwood Field on Saturday.
Barr paced the New Brunswick at the plate. Barr went 3-6 and drove in one. He singled in the fifth, ninth, and tenth innings.
Jon Saunders racked up three RBIs on two hits for the New Brunswick. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth inning.
Shawn Reid got the win for the New Brunswick thanks to eight strikeouts. The New Brunswick's pitcher gave up just two hits over 4 2/3 shutout innings.
Paul Doucette was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed one run.
