A superb effort by Walker Buehler carried the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox (5-2) to a 5-0 win over the Falmouth Commodores (4-1) on Thursday at Arnie Allen Diamond.
Buehler kept the Falmouth Commodores off the board during his eight innings of work. Buehler struck out eight and allowed one walk and three hits.
Marcus Mastrobuoni racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. He doubled in the fifth inning, singled in the seventh innings, and homered in the ninth inning.
Matt Hall baffled the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox, striking out 12 batters. Hall allowed three earned runs on six hits and no walks over 6 2/3 innings.
Hall ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year.
