Mark Hendrick kept the Quincy Gems (0-1) off the board during his seven innings of work and the Danville Dans (1-0) beat the Quincy Gems, 2-0.

Hendrick allowed two hits, three walks and struck out three.

The Danville Dans were led by a flawless day at the dish by Matt Henderson, who went 3-3 against the Quincy Gems' pitching. He singled in the second and fourth innings and doubled in the sixth inning.

Despite the loss, the Quincy Gems' Jake Busiek dominated the Danville Dans' batters, giving up two runs and striking out six.

Busiek was charged with his first loss of the year.
