The Alameda Merchants (28-23) and the Top Speed Baseball (46-10) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Alameda Merchants that eventually took advantage of them in a 5-3 win at St. Marys College.

Michael Echavia racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Alameda Merchants. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the sixth inning.

Peter Nyznyk recorded his fifth win of the year for the Alameda Merchants. He allowed two runs over seven innings. Nyznyk struck out none, walked one and gave up nine hits.

Kyle Fimbrez was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
